Root Canal Therapy

Save Your Natural Tooth with Gentle, Modern Care

Root canal therapy is a highly effective treatment used to save a tooth that has become infected or severely damaged. Despite its reputation, modern root canal treatment is comfortable, safe, and often no more stressful than getting a filling. At Paullina Dental Care, Dr. Krayton Struve uses advanced techniques and technology to make the process faster, smoother, and more predictable.

When Is a Root Canal Needed?

You may need a root canal if the soft tissue inside your tooth—called the pulp—becomes inflamed or infected due to deep decay, a crack, or trauma. Common signs include:

  • Persistent toothache

  • Sensitivity to hot or cold

  • Swelling or tenderness in the gums

  • Darkening of the tooth

Delaying treatment can lead to more pain and risk of tooth loss, so prompt care is essential.

Advanced Technology for Better Results

Our root canal procedures are powered by rotary endodontic technology, which uses an electric handpiece and flexible nickel-titanium instruments to clean and shape the root canals with exceptional precision. Compared to traditional manual files, rotary tools allow for:

  • Faster treatment times

  • Increased comfort

  • More thorough cleaning of complex canals

  • Reduced risk of complications

We also use biocompatible materials to fill and seal the canals, supporting long-term tooth stability and preventing reinfection.

What to Expect

During the procedure, Dr. Struve will gently remove the infected pulp, clean and disinfect the inner chamber of the tooth, and seal it to protect against future infection. A crown is usually placed afterward to restore the tooth’s strength and appearance. Most patients return to normal activities the very next day.

Comfort-Focused, Tooth-Saving Care

With modern techniques and a focus on your comfort, root canals are nothing to fear. At Paullina Dental Care, we’re committed to preserving your natural teeth whenever possible—and root canal therapy helps us do just that.
